Welcome to my blog. This is a blog for me to express my ideas and thoughts. I love to craft and "repurpose" things. I am just starting on this blog adventure, so bear with my while I get steady and rolling.

Long time coming.

I thought I had better at least post something!  I know that it's been way too long, but I just needed a rest.  Now that the weather here in the Maritimes has finally started to warm up and be spring like for the past couple of weeks, I have thrown myself into a long list of projects.

I have some outside spray painting I want to do, but of course the wind always decides to pick up when I decide to do it.  This weekend I'll have to put together a make shift paint booth if the wind doesn't bugger off!

I finally did some painting inside.  Yay!  After a couple of years of putting it off (I really do not like to paint!) I started with my kitchen.  It has been the same color for about 13 years now.  Now the color was actually fine, but it was time for a change.    The old kitchen:

My little helper getting ready to paint---Smooth Like Butta---just as the shirt says.

Psych!   Pictures of the completed room to come.  I still have some finishing touches to make.  But at least you know I'm doing something!

So many projects, so little time.  Chairs to redo, slipcovers to make, sooo much more painting to do.

For my home I want fresh, I want clean, I want simple.

I love looking at all the blogs I have listed on here and get inspired by many of their ideas.  That is one thing I did do.   I continued to follow all the blogs and gather inspiration to make my home a place I love to be.

 July 29, 1949 - February 10, 2011

My mother-in-law Cathy passed away after a long battle with cancer.  Cathy was a very special person in my life and I will miss her terribly.   She was strong, vibrant, determined, caring and loving.  Her family was most important to her and she to us.  I really depended on her advice and I'm sure if I still ask her, she'll answer me... somehow.

I want to thank her for being the best mother-in-law.  She always made sure that we were all taken care of even when she was not feeling her best.  My children always knew they could depend on her when they could not depend on me.  She never missed a concert, recital or special occasion that they were involved in.  She was a fantastic mother and grandmother.  Morgan said, "I picture Nan in heaven with wings and a golden circle over her head.  She was an angel to me."  She was to all of us.

Cathy loved poetry and a friend gave me this poem. I like it and think that she would too.

Miss Me But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not too long
And not with you head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me, but let me go

For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone
It's all a part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home

When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds
Miss me, but let me go
